About F1 CUP

F1 Cup is a multy disciplinary challenge in which students from selected secondary schools in Malaysia are going to compete at University Teknologi Petronas (UTP). The main objective of this event is to help change perception of design , engineering, manufacturing, science, and technology by creating a fun and exciting learning environment for students to develope an informed view about careers in this domain.
F1 Cup is rapidly releasing its potential of becoming the only truly global educational program that raises awareness of Engineering, Technology, Science, and Mathematics in this country. There are 3 main challenges that the students must participate in this program. The first is the Time Trial race, the second is presentation, and the last one the the design of the car.
The competiton will be held for a day which is on 18 June 2011 at UTP. 28 groups from the schools around Malaysia will be chosen to participate in this tournament. The challenge has been specially formulate so that all or some of its outcome can be incorporated into any High School’s technology, Design, Science, and even Mathematics curriculum.

The objectives of this competition are:

• To enhance student potential ability and creativity.
• For the school student to consider engineering as a career.
• Creating enjoyable and exciting environment among students.
• Gaining experience in making a F1 car which involve various analysis, procedure and implementation
• Student’s leadership and teamwork could be enhanced.
• To produce future engineer-to-be that not only excellent in academic but co-curriculum as well.
• To build competitive spirits among the competitors.
• To strengthen relationship between Mechanical Engineering club and all the school around Perak.
